MSOE Soccer Camps are designed for players of all ages seeking to improve their skills and understanding of the game. MSOE offers a variety of camp options.


MSOE Soccer Camps are held at Viets Field and the Kern Center. Viets Field is the home soccer venue for both the men's and women's programs. The field is located on top of MSOE's parking structure. The Kern Center is MSOE's Health and Wellness facility.


  • All campers are responsible for bringing their own equipment.
  • Campers should bring both cleats and running shoes, shin guards and appropriate clothing.
  • Water will be provided, however, campers should bring a water bottle of their own.
  • Each camper will receive an MSOE Soccer Camp Shirt
  • Campers should bring their own soccer ball, however, there will be some available to use.


Jimmy Banks, Head Men's Soccer Coach
Jimmy Banks took the helm of the MSOE soccer program in 1999. In 2009 and 2014, Banks was named Northern Athletics Conference Coach of the Year. He was also named Coach of the Year twice when MSOE was a member of the Lake Michigan Conference.

Banks is one of the most talented soccer players to come out of Milwaukee. In 1981, He was an All-American forward at Custer High School. While at the University of Wisconsin-Parkside, Banks was a National Soccer Coaches Association (NSCAA) NAIA All-American selection in 1983. After transferring to UW-Milwaukee, He was an NSCAA All-Midwest Region selection in 1985 and 1986. Banks later went on to play on the 1990 U.S. World Cup team where he started two games as a defender and continued his soccer career by playing for the Milwaukee Wave. In 2002, he was among the honorees in the "Decade of U.S. Soccer" celebration held in the nation's capitol. Banks is an inducted member of Custer High School and Wisconsin Soccer Association's Hall of Fame.

Rolf Zersen, Head Women's Soccer Coach
Rolf Zersen is in his 13th season as head coach of the MSOE women's soccer program. No stranger to MSOE, Zersen served as MSOE Men's Assistant Coach from 2001 - 2004. Coach Zersen was named the NACC Coach of the Year in 2007 and 2016. His teams have posted nine-straight winning seasons heading into 2016. The 2007 season was also MSOE's first in the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference. The team has posted an all-time NACC record of 62-26-4 (.695) and qualified for the conference tournament each season. He has helped to develop numerous all-conference and all-region collegiate soccer players and his teams are consistently top academic performers .

The former assistant coach of Concordia University-Texas, Zersen formerly played competitive soccer with the Milwaukee Bavarians, Croation Eagles, and Mequon United. As a collegiate player at Concordia-Wisconsin, Zersen was a three-year starter, captain and an All-Lake Michigan Conference selection.

His coaching experience includes Milwaukee Lutheran , Germantown high school, Muskego high school, and Milwaukee Sports Club. He holds a National and Advanced National Diploma from the NSCAA.

Day Camp

Date: June 11-14, July 16-19, August 6-9, 2018
Cost:1 Week; $195 (Full Day), $145 (Half Day), 2 Weeks $340 (Full Day), $265 (Half Day), 3 Weeks $460 (Full Day), $360 (Half Day)
Registration Non-Refundable Fee: A $50 non-refundable fee is assessed to each registration.

Location: Viets Field and Kern Center
Time: 9 a.m. - 4 p.m.
Camp Highlights: Technical training, speed and agility, small sided games, functional training.

Daily Schedule

  • 8:30 a.m. Drop-off
  • 9 a.m. - Noon Session 1
  • Noon Half Day Campers Dismissed
  • Noon - 1 p.m. Lunch (Campers must bring a lunch)
  • 1 - 3 p.m. Session 2
  • 3 - 4 p.m. Games
  • 4 p.m. Pick-up
  • *Half Day Campers allowed in the morning only.

High School Pre-Season Camps

Date: July 28-29, 2018
Cost: $100
Registration Non-Refundable Fee: A $50 non-refundable fee is assessed to each registration.
Registration Deadline: Open until camp start date or until camp is full. (Enrollment limited)
Grade: (Rising) 9 - 12
Gender: Male and Female
Location: Viets Field and Kern Center
Time: Saturday 9-11 a.m., 1-3 p.m., Sunday 9-11 a.m., 1-3 p.m.
Camp Highlights: Small sided games, full field games, speed and conditioning training, technical skill training, Injury prevention.

Insurance/Medical Forms

Campers must have their own health insurance. Each camper must complete the medical history/liability release form. It can be mailed, emailed or brought on the first day. Under no circumstances may a camper participate without completing this form.


Registration confirmation will be sent prior to the start of the clinic. Participants will not receive confirmation if they register within five days of the clinic. No refunds will be given unless a doctor's excuse is provided. In the event of a clinic cancellation, participants will be notified five days prior to the start of the clinic. A full refund will be given.

If MSOE closes due to inclement weather, the Kern Center also will close and clinic will be cancelled. Snow closing announcements will be posted on Participants also may call (414) 277-6763 to find out if the university is closed.
