The Raiders will get their first run at full distance this week. The Ken Weidt Classic is hosted by Concordia Wisconsin on its campus. It's a familiar course for MSOE as its previous run in the Weidt, in duals and recent league championships.
MSOE fell just short of defending its Tom Barry Invite title on the men's side last weekend. The men finished second in the 13-team field with senior Austin Wright taking fourth and junior Trey Horbinski ninth. On the women's side, the Red & White was eighth among 14 teams. Junior Alex Muench led the team in 39th place, while junior Becky Sondelski was 44th in her first race in nearly two years.

Up Next: Golf heads to the Midwest Region Classic Sept. 17-18.
Women's Soccer got off a 2-0 start last weekend by unofficially winning the Belles Invitational with a 1-0 win over host St. Mary's College. The Raiders opened the weekend with a 3-1 win over Kalamazoo Friday, overcoming a 1-0 halftime deficit. Juniors Mary McFee, Kassidy Girmscheid, Kelsey Hailey and senior Kait Riley were named to the All-Tournament Team. Girmscheid had the winner Saturday, while Hailey had a goal and assist Friday.
MSOE starts its home schedule with a Wednesday night contest against St. Norbert. Kick-off is an hour earlier than usual at 6 p.m. The Raiders have played the Green Knights in each of the last two seasons and are 2-0 all-time in the series. This weekend, they then embark on a tough WIAC road trip to northwest Wisconsin, playing UW-Stout Friday and UW-Lacrosse Sunday.

Second-year head coach Tom Wood returns junior setter Abby Born and sophomore hitter Hannah Pekarek return to drive the offense this season. Senior Sarabeth Haworth was a consistent attack option her first two seasons, but made a successful switch to libero last season and will bring a leadership role on the court.
