MILWAUKEE - The Raiders are nearing the end of the fall regular season with just two weeks of competition remaining for women's soccer, men's soccer and women's volleyball. Meanwhile, Rowing heads to its final regatta of the fall at the prestigious Head of the Charles Regatta.
WOMEN'S SOCCER (11-3-1, 6-0 NACC - W2)
Women's Soccer remains perfect in the NACC at 6-0 after dispatching Edgewood from the ranks of the unbeaten with a 3-0 win in Madison on Wednesday. The Raiders then scored inside the first two minutes Saturday at Benedictine on the way to a 3-1 win. EC has a couple games in hand at 7-1 and is in first in the standings with 21 points. MSOE is three points back makes up one of those two games Monday at Marian and can lock up their place in the NACC Tournament with their next win.
Caitlin Liddiard is nearing the 100-point club and enters the week with 99 career points. Meanwhile, Sara Travia notched her 150th career point last Wednesday at Edgewood.
WOMEN'S VOLLEYBALL (4-13, 3-5 NACC - W2)
Women's Volleyball is coming off their best week of the season last week, scoring three-set road wins at Rockford and Alverno. The Raiders posted a season-high attack percentage in each game, including just eight errors at Rockford. Julia Zeamer set a school record Friday, hitting .714 (10-0-14) for the match. The team now finds itself tied for seventh in the NACC standings, just one match out of the sixth and final NACC Tournament place.
MEN'S SOCCER (10-6, 5-2 NACC - W2)
Men's Soccer had a strong week last week, routing Maranatha 7-0 mid-week and handing Benedictine a 3-2 loss on the road Saturday, the Eagles first league loss of the season. The victory puts the 5-2 Raiders in good shape to fight for the league's No. 2 seed with just three regular season games remaining. Braden Andryk shares the league lead with 18 points and tops the circuit with 44 points. He has a point in each of his last nine games.
The fall portion of the rowing schedule wraps up this weekend with the prestigious Head of the Charles Regatta. The Raiders will send its Varsity 4 crew to the event. The Raiders placed ninth out of 46 boats last season. It was an improvement over the year prior and is what clinched their invitation back this season.
