MILWAUKEE - Men's and Women's Basketball and Hockey are fighting for post-season bids while Wrestling heads to its conference championships in another busy week for MSOE athletics this week.
MEN'S BASKETBALL (8-11, 7-8 - L3)
Men's Basketball suffered a tough week last week but still looks in good shape to qualify for the NACC Tournament. The Raiders currently sit sixth and sit a half game back of fourth place with a game in hand on the two teams tied for that place. A three-game week lies ahead for them against Marian Monday, Lakeland Wednesday and Dominican Saturday. Individually, Collin Seubert is coming off a 36-point outing at Aurora Saturday. His career-best scoring game has put him tantalizingly close to 1,000 career points. He enters the week with 996 points, four away from becoming the program's 15th 1,000-point scorer.
WOMEN'S BASKETBALL (10-11, 7-9 - W3)
Women's Basketball has played its way back into the NACC Tournament picture with three wins last week over Marian, Edgewood, and Aurora. The Raiders now trail Alverno by two games with four games to play and hold the tiebreaker over the Inferno. Home games with Lakeland Tuesday and Dominican Saturday are on the docket this week. Holly Denfeld surpassed 1,000 career rebounds last Wednesday and is closing on the program's all-time scoring record. She enters the week with 1,713 points and needs just 77 points to equal Catherine Chappell's 1,790.
Wrestling makes its CCIW debut this week at the CCIW Championships Thursday at Wheaton.
