MILWAUKEE - It's a light but important week for MSOE, as Baseball embarks on its second-straight NACC Tournament, Rowing heads to Dad Vail, and Track & Field faces down the first of two last chance qualifiers for the NCAA Championships.
Ian's Pizza RAIDER OF THE WEEK: Jerica Kotarak, Women's Track & Field
Track & Field will send some athletes to a last chance qualifier this weekend in the Dr. Keeler Invitational hosted by North Central. Both teams showed strong at the NACC Championships last weekend and will look to make a final push to qualify for nationals. Jerica Kotarak, who repeated as league long and triple jump champion last weekend, is fifth in the nation in the long jump with a school and league-record distance of 19-3 1/4. She also sits 20th in the triple jump and is in good shape to once again qualify for nationals in both events. She has done so both indoors and outdoors last season and again during the 2017 indoor season.
BASEBALL (19-19, 10-10 NACC - W2)
Baseball slugged its way back into the NACC Tournament for the second-straight season, sweeping Rockford 12-11 and 17-1 Saturday to clinch the No. 6 seed. The Raiders start their run in the tournament Thursday, in the first game of the event, against No. 3 Aurora at 10 a.m. The tournament is hosted at CUW's Kapco Park in Mequon. Last season, MSOE won four games and advanced to the championship game.
Rowing heads to the Dad Vail Regatta this weekend in Philadelphia. Coming off a strong showing at the MACRA Regatta their last time out, in which they rowed in the Grand Final of six races, the Raiders will compete in the Varsity 4, Lightweight 4, Men's Pair, Novice 4, and Women's Novice 4.
