MSOE Women Take Fourth in NACC All-Sports Standings

MILWAUKEE – MSOE Athletics took fourth in both the NACC All-Sports Standings for both men's and women's sports for the 2016-17 academic year.

The Raiders women posted their best-ever finish in the all-sports standings thanks largely to historic seasons by Women's Soccer and Softball.

The Women's Soccer team earned the maximum points by claiming its first regular season title and its second-straight tournament crown. The Raiders went 10-0 in league play. Then, in the spring, Softball won a school-record 29 games and tied for second in the standings, the team's best finish since joining the NACC in 2008. MSOE had been picked 10th in the NACC preseason poll before defying expectations to go 17-5 in the conference.

The Red & White also had improved showings by the Women's Track & Field team, which finished fourth at both the indoor and outdoor league championships—its highest finishes since 2010. Women's Tennis also tied for fifth and qualified for its first league tournament in five seasons.
