AUBURNDALE, Florida – The MSOE baseball team wins a close battle.

The Raiders faced two opponents on Thursday.  In the first game, MSOE held off Hanover, where in the second Neumann bettered the Raiders.

In game one, the story was not the bats.  Rather, it was the pitching as both teams struggled to find a rhythm to their offense.  For the Raiders, Sam Crawford pitched 8 innings striking out 5.  Nathan Tremore came in and Cole Raines eventually earned the win with 2 strike outs in the 9th.  MSOE had 7 hits on 37 at bats compared the Hanover's 4 hits on the same number of at bats.

Game two was a tight game that saw both teams exchange blows.  MSOE led 4-3 in the 3rd only to have the Knights regain the lead 10-7 in the 5th.  Neumann added one more run in the 9th to take the game 12-7.  Neumann had 17 hits compared to MSOE's 11.

The Raiders return to the field against Grove City at 2pm and 5pm.
