MILWAUKEE – Junior Matthew Kirmse of the MSOE men's basketball team was named the NACC Player of the Week for Dec. 17, the league office announced Tuesday.
Kirmse earned the award for the third time this season, following back-to-back honors in the first two weeks of the season Nov. 12-19.
Kirmse led the Raiders to a pair of decisive victories last week to run their record to 9-1 this season. He scored 25.0 points per game on 63.3 percent shooting from the field and 56.3 percent from three-point range. He also grabbed 4.5 rebounds per game. In a 91-67 win over Maranatha, he tallied 22 points with four 3-pointers and six rebounds in just 21 minutes of action. Then, MSOE dismantled Aurora 116-85 on the road behind a 28-point effort from Kirmse. He knocked down five more three-pointers in the game.
Kirmse currently leads the league in scoring and three-pointers with 20.7 points and 3.9 made three's per game. He's shooting 56 percent from the field and 54.9 percent from beyond the arc.
The Raiders have one more game before the holiday break, playing at Lakeland Saturday.
