AURORA, Illinois – The MSOE golf team finished at +166 (1318) to place sixth at the NACC Championships after the final two rounds played Sunday and Monday at Stonebridge Country Club.
The Raiders entered the spring season in fifth place at +81 (657) before turning in a +85 (661) this past weekend. Due to weather this season, the team was shooting its first competitive rounds of the spring.
Freshman Nick Redmon finished at a team-low +38 (326) over the four combined rounds. This weekend, he fired back-to-back rounds of 81 to pull into the team lead and take 19th.
Freshman Jacob Mueller finished in a tie for 20th at +43 (331). He rebounded from a 91 Sunday to shave 10 strokes off his score with an 81 on Monday. Junior Sullivan Schrandt was just two strokes back at +45 (333) and in 23rd place.
The most improved finish was senior Andrew Ramirez, who was tied for 30th place after the fall rounds but carded a +19 (163) this spring to rise to 25th overall. He carded the team's best round of the spring portion with a +6 (78) on Monday.
Rounding out the lineup with freshman Bryce Lindsley in 30th place at +55 (343).
The Raiders will now begin to make up its postponed spring schedule starting Tuesday at the Carthage Invitational.
