HARTFORD, Wisconsin – Four golfers finished in the top 25 and combined for six rounds in the 70s to lead the MSOE golf team to a fifth-place finish at the WLC Fall Invitational Saturday and Sunday at Washington County Golf Course.
The Raiders finished at +57 (777) at the tournament, which counted five golfers in the team scoring. They were consistent over the two days, carding rounds of 389 and 388, respectively.
Freshman Garrett Schultz was low man for the tournament, shooting a +1 (73) on Saturday on his way to a +9 (153) for the tournament. He tied for 20th and finished a shot ahead of sophomore Bryce Lindsley. Lindsley, meanwhile, improved by six shots over the two rounds with a +2 (74) Sunday propelling him to 23rd place at +10 (154).
Senior Sullivan Schrandt and sophomore Jordan Wachowiak tied for 24th at +11 (155) with a pair of consistent rounds. Schrandt shot a +5 (77) Saturday before a 78 on Sunday. Wachowiak lowered his first round score of 79 to a +4 (76) on day two.
Sophomore Jacob Mueller rounded out the scoring golfers with a +19 (163), tying for 52nd. Junior Michael Barbeau finished strong with a round-two 80 putting him at +23 (167) while senior Charlie Paddock competed as an individual and finished with a +28 (172). Barbeau tied for 59th and Paddock tied for 67th.
The Raiders return to action next weekend, hosting the MSOE Invitational Sunday and Monday at Grand Geneva Resort.
