#15/rv Hockey Handed First Loss by #1/3 St. Norbert

DePERE, Wisconsin – Freshman Will Gauthier scored his first collegiate goal, but the No. 15/rv MSOE hockey team was handed its first loss of the season, 4-1, at No. 1/3 St. Norbert Saturday evening at Cornerstone Ice Center.

The Raiders (3-1, 1-1 NCHA) conceded three power play goals to the Green Knights (2-0, 2-0 NCHA) on the night and trailed 4-0 after two periods.

St. Norbert got off to a quick start in the game, scoring the first goal less than three minutes in and taking a 2-0 lead at 8:10 of the first period. The home team then scored a pair of power play goals in the second period at 3:13 and 18:12 for a 4-0 lead.

Gauthier then got the Raiders on the board with a late goal, lighting the lamp at 16:18 of the third period.

Both teams took 26 shots in the game, with senior Zach Woodman making 22 saves in goal. The Green Knights ended 3-for-6 on the power play, while MSOE was 0-for-5.

The Raiders return to the ice next weekend, hosting Northland Friday night.
