ADRIAN, Michigan – The MSOE hockey team fell to No. 1 Adrian 6-0 Friday night at Arrington Ice Arena.
The Raiders (10-12-2, 6-10-1 NCHA) conceded a pair of first-period goals to the Bulldogs (20-4, 16-1 NCHA) and could night recover.
The home team would tack on a late goal in the second period before breaking the game open with three special teams goals in the third period. The latter two came as MSOE played with the man advantage for the first two shorthanded goals the team has allowed this season.
Shots were fairly even with Adrian holding just a 27-24 advantage on the night. The Raiders finished 0-for-5 on the power play while the Bulldogs were 2-for-3.
Senior Zach Woodman made 21 saves on the night.
These teams will play again in the Harris Cup Playoffs Feb. 16-17 in a two-game quarterfinal series back on Adrian's home ice.
MSOE closes out the regular season Saturday at Trine. Puck drops at 3 p.m. central time.
