Lacrosse Ends Successful Season in MLC Semifinals

MEQUON, Wisconsin – The MSOE lacrosse team saw its season come to an end with a 14-1 loss to top-seeded Concordia Wisconsin in the Midwest Lacrosse Conference Tournament Semifinals Wednesday afternoon at Fitting Field.

The Raiders (8-8) officially finished the most successful season in program history with their first .500 record while the Falcons (13-5) advance to the MLC Championship game Saturday against Aurora.

CUW got off to a strong start and was able to effectively disrupt the MSOE offense in scoring four times in the first quarter. Six more goals in the second led to a 10-0 halftime deficit for the Red & White. The home side would then score four more times in the third period for a 14-0 lead.

The Raiders held the Falcons scoreless in the fourth quarter and avoided a shutout when junior Oliver Winsor scored a man-up goal with just 10 seconds remaining.

Despite the loss, MSOE celebrates an outstanding campaign that is another step in a growing program. The team set or tied school records with eight wins (tied), 180 goals, and an 8.13 goals against average. The GAA record could be most impressive as the squad did not return a single field player on defense. What's more, the Raiders do not have a single senior on the roster, with every player expected to return in 2018.
