MILWAUKEE – Senior Pat Collins and sophomore Collin Fischer of the MSOE lacrosse team swept the weekly awards handed out by the Midwest Lacrosse Conference for March 12 when the league office made its announcement late Monday.
Collins was named the MLC Defensive Player of the Week and Fischer picked up the award as MLC Offensive Player of the Week.
The Raiders went 2-0 last week with a school-record 26-1 victory over North Central (Minn.) on Wednesday and a 9-8 win against North Central (Ill.) on Saturday.
Collins stopped 10 shots on Saturday, powering a strong defensive effort against NCC. He also played a quarter vs. NCU with a pair of saves.
Fischer tallied nine points over two games, including four goals in Saturday's victory over the Cardinals. He netted a pair of man-up goals in the game. He also had five points on a pair of goals and three assists in the midweek showdown against the Rams.
