Men's Tennis Blanked In Green Bay

GREEN BAY, Wis. - MSOE men's tennis headed north on Saturday afternoon, traveling to Green Bay to take on NCAA D1 opponent Green Bay. The Phoenix, who are members of the Horizon League, made quick work of the Raiders by shutting them out 7-0 inside the Western Racquet and Fitness Club.

Green Bay (4-9, 0-0 HL) took both match No. 1 and No. 3 by the scores of 6-1 and 6-0 but were threatened in the No. 2 match. MSOE's (2-5, 0-0 NACC) Alec Dam (Caledonia, Wis./Union Grove) and Curt Norton (Cary, Ill./Cary-Grove) were only down by one game, before the matched ended abruptly at 3-2 in favor of GB due to Green Bay locking up the 7-0 overall victory.

On the singles side of the action, only Luke Nelson (Cottage Grove, Wis./Monona Grove), David Chon (Palatine, Ill./Palatine), and Dam were able to win a game against the Phoenix. Nelson fell 6-0, 6-1, while both Chon and Dam were defeated 6-1, 6-1. The three other contests were decided by 6-0, 6-0 scores.

The Red & White will now use this experience moving forward to earn victories in the five remaining matches they have this month. Their first chance to get back on the winning path will come against Carthage next weekend at the Life Sports Athletic Club in Racine, Wis. First serve is slated for 10:00 am.
