MEQUON, Wis. – MSOE men's tennis played in quite arguably their most competitive competition of the season, taking on Concordia-Wisconsin in Mequon. Unfortunately, the Raiders were only able to snag just one of the seven matches that went three sets or into extra points in their second to last Saturday of the NACC regular season.
All three doubles matches went 8-7, but the tiebreak games didn't favor the Red & White. Luke Nelson (Cottage Grove, Wis. / Monona Grove) and David Chon (Palatine, Ill. / Palatine) fell 8(7)-7(4), Connor Splingaire (Wauconda, Ill. / Wauconda) and Curt Norton (Cary, Ill. / Cary-Grove) dropped theirs 8(7)-7(3), and Bryan Roob (Milwaukee, Wis. / Martin Luther) and Alec Dam (Caledonia, Wis. / Union Grove) lost 8(7)-7.
Three different singles competitions went three sets, with Chon being the only victor of his by the score of 4-6, 7-5, 10-5. Nelson put up a fight in the first set of his one on one action, but was defeated 6(7)-7(9), 0-6.
MSOE will regroup, as they have their last game of the season coming up on Saturday. It will be a twin road bill with the Raiders taking on Lakeland at 10:00 am and Marian at 2:00 pm.
