MILWAUKEE - Sophomore Joe Buichl won two events and posted the NACC's best time in the 200m to lead the MSOE men's track & field team at the UWM Panther Tune-Up Saturday at the Klotsche Center.
The Raiders were second only to host Milwaukee with 45 points when scored against non-Division I teams. The Panthers took first with 86 points. Conference foes Concordia Wisconsin and Wisconsin Lutheran were also in attendance. CUW was third with 44 and WLC tied for fifth with 25.
Buichl won the 200m with a time of 22.83, eclipsing the top time 23.11 by teammate senior Matt Waech run last weekend. He also ran 8.51 to win the 60m hurdles. He leads the NACC in that event, as well, but Saturday's time was the best true 60m hurdles time run this season.
Freshman Mike Van Alstyne also won two events, while junior Jerome Rhodes posted his fourth win in six events in the high jump this season. Van Alstyne leapt 21-2 in winning the long jump and posted a distance of 42-4 3/4 to win the triple jump. Junior Ryan Moldenhauer was second in the triple jump, going 39-7 3/4.
Rhodes cleared a height of 6-6 3/4 to win the high jump.
Junior Dan Franke and sophomores Brad Lorr and Ben Miller also posted top-three finishes. Franke ran 52.83 to take second in the 400m. Lorr cleared 11-5 3/4 for third in the pole vault and Miller took third in the mile with a time of 4:41.11.
Senior Trevor Koziczkowski also competed at UW-Stevens Point's Eastbay Invitational. He took eighth in the 5000m in 16:20.12.
The Raiders return to action next weekend, competing at the NACC Championships in Kenosha, Wis.
