Raiders Compete At NCAA Qualifiers

KENOSHA, Wis. - The MSOE men's track & field team send six athletes to NCAA qualifying events at Carthage and UW-Stevens Point this weekend.

Junior Brian Janus, sophomore Ben Miller and freshman Austin Wright competed at Carthage Friday. Saturday, junior Jerome Rhodes, sophomore Joe Buichl and freshman Brad Wasilewski competed at UWSP.

Janus posted the team's top mile time this season, taking 23rd in 4:34.09. Wright was 36th in 5:01.10. In the 3000m, Miller took 14th in 9:15.02.

Rhodes led the way in Stevens Point, tying for second with a height of 6-6. Buichl ran in the 55m hurdles, taking sixth in the preliminaries with a time of 8.08. He then ran 7.99 in the finals for fifth. Wasilewski took 19th in the shot put, throwing 40-10 1/4.

The indoor season wraps up next weekend at the NCAA Championships. Rhodes is a strong candidate to qualify for the meet, as he is currently sixth in NCAA Division III with a height of 6-10 1/4 in the high jump.
