Wright Named CoSIDA Academic All-District

MILWAUKEE – Senior Austin Wright of the MSOE men's cross country and track & field teams has been named to the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-District Team, the group announced this week.

Wright was a NACC Champion in the 3000m steeplechase and the indoor 3000m this season, adding a runner-up in league javelin competition and the indoor 800m. His javelin performance broke the school record in the event by 6-8. In the fall, he earned his fourth all-conference award in cross country in the fall.

In 20 league track & field championship competitions, Wright won two events, was runner-up seven times, and was top-5 seven more times. He also holds school cross country 8000m record of 24:49. In 2015, he was the NACC individual cross country champion, all-region, and NCAA qualifier.

In the classroom, he's maintained a 3.72 grade points average as an architectural engineering major.

Wright now moves onto the national ballot for consideration for Academic All-America honors.
