DMR Takes Second for Men’s Track & Field at Platteville

PLATTEVILLE, Wisconsin – The distance medley relay finished second to highlight the MSOE men's track & field team's day at the UW-Platteville Invitational Saturday.

The quartet of seniors Trey Horbinski and Tripp Horbinski, sophomore Blake Bostwick, and freshman Brian Jimenez combined on a time of 10:55.40.

Individually, Bostwick and Trey Horbinski added top-30 finishes in the 800m and 400m events, respectively. Bostwick ran 2:05.57 for 21st place while Horbinski was 26th in 54.65. Junior McCoy Swanson was 29th in the 400m, crossing the line in 55.25.

Swanson was also one of five top-20 competitors for the Raiders. He placed 18th in the long jump with a leap of 19-3 1/2. Freshman Avery Bobo was 22nd at 19-10 1/2.

Freshman Eddie Diaz Barragan was the team's top individual finisher at the meet, placing 12th in the pole vault. He cleared a height of 12-7 1/2 in the event.

Sophomore Nick Bath and freshman Keaton Harrison each took 14th place, with Bath running 16:18.03 in the 5000m. Harrison had a final height of 5-7 in the high jump.

Rounding out the top-20 showings for MSOE was sophomore Noah Vaculik. He posted a time of 9:40.15 in the 3000m and finished 18th.

The Raiders return to action next Saturday at the UWM Panther Tune-Up.
