Naperville, IL-- Freshman Jesse Lambrecht lead the way for MSOE Men's Track and Field team as they competed against the NCAA DIII #1 ranked team, North Central College, at the Pat Heenan Invitational at North Central College on Friday night.
Lambrecht competed in the very competitive 5,000 meters, with at least 3 men punching their tickets to the NCAA DIII Nationals Championships, Lambrecht ran 15:33.90 to break the school record. Seven Raiders broke their career personal records on Friday night, more impressive was only 14 men competed in the invite only competition. Fellow freshman Joe Jurss shaved .3 seconds of his career best in the 60 meter High Hurdles, with a time of 9.45.
The seniors were not going to allow the freshmen class to take all the accolades. Hayden Heun placed 4th in the 35 pound weight toss, with a career PR of 15.72 meters, 4 of Heun's 6 throws were all-time best on Friday. Senior sprinter McCoy Swanson also collected a life time best in the 400 meters, running the oval in 52.41.
The Red and White will take a week off before returning to action on February 23rd when they compete at the NACC Championships at Carthage College.
