SHEBOYGAN, Wis. – The MSOE men's volleyball team fell to No. 9 Lakeland 25-18, 25-17, 25-17, Wednesday evening at Woltzen Gymnasium.
The Raiders (3-9) started strong by hitting .300 in the opening set, but that dropped to .000 in the second set and -.069 in the third.
The match against the Muskies (12-6) was MSOE's seventh against a team ranked in the NCAA Division III or NAIA top 10 in 12 matches this season.
Freshman Logan Baerenwald led the Red and White with seven kills and hit .400 on the night.
Alec Redlich had 10 kills to pace Lakeland, which hit .231.
The Red and White held close in the first set, but LC broke a 10-10 tie with four-straight points for some breathing room and slowly pulled away down the stretch. MSOE was within 8-6 early in the second set, but the Muskies tallied four-straight points and added a 3-0 run later to take the frame.
The home team got off to a fast start in the final set, 5-1, and the Raiders could not get closer than three the rest of the match.
