Raiders Come Back on Cal Lutheran in Five

SPRINGFIELD, Ohio – The MSOE men's volleyball team rallied from a 2-0 deficit to earn a 21-25, 23-25, 25-23, 25-21, 17-15 victory over Cal Lutheran on the first day of the Wittenberg Invitational Friday evening at Pam Evans Smith Arena.

The Raiders (1-3) were led by sophomore Sam Stealey's 17 kills and 13 digs in rallying for a dramatic victory over the Kingsmen (0-5).

Stealey, who hit .371 in the match, was one of three MSOE player in double-figures in kills. Sophomore Bryant Holland led the squad with 18 kills, while sophomore Neil Naughton tallied 13 kills, five blocks and hit .417 on the night.

Hunter Horn posted a match-best 23 kills for CLU. Robert Rutecki had 10.

The Raiders finished strong, hitting .455 in the final set with just one error. They finished the night hitting .196 with 11 total blocks. The Kingsmen hit .201.

The Wittenberg Invitational continues Saturday. MSOE opens with new MCVL foe North Central at 8 a.m. central time. It then takes on Eastern Mennonite at 10 a.m.
