DUBUQUE, Iowa – Junior Scott Boyk had a double-double of 11 kills and 10 digs, while the No. 14 MSOE men's volleyball team limited Loras to .019 attacking in a 25-20, 25-22, 25-20 sweep Friday evening on Lillis Court.
The Raiders (9-4, 6-0 MCVL) swept the Duhawks (6-8, 1-4 MCVL) to remain perfect without dropping a set in league play.
Ryan Galvan and Alfredo Lopez led Loras with six kills each.
The Raiders rallied in all three sets, overcoming a 10-9 deficit in the first frame with a 5-1 run. They then played from the front for the rest of the set. A late 4-1 run game them some breathing room as they closed out the set.
In the second set, the Red & White scored the first five points of the set, but found itself trailing 21-19 late in the frame. A Naughton kill then kick-started a 6-1 run to take a 2-0 lead in the match.
MSOE found itself in a similar position in the final game, trailing 20-19. It responded with six-straight points, including back-to-back kills by Boyk and a service ace from sophomore Ben Clarke.
The Raiders hit .202 for the match with 18 more kills (42-24) and 11 more digs (51-40) than the Duhawks.
MSOE has off until Tuesday when they will play at No. 8 Dominican.
