MILWAUKEE – Sophomore Sam Stealey of the 13th-ranked MSOE men's volleyball team has been named the Midwest Collegiate Volleyball League Offensive Player of the Week for April 4, the league office announced Wednesday.
Stealey led the Raiders to a pair of wins last week as they wrapped up the No. 2 seed in this weekend's MCVL Tournament. He averaged 3.6 kills, 1.9 digs and 0.9 blocks per set, while hitting .333 in the process. The pinnacle of his weekend was 19 kills and 12 digs in a five-set defeat of No. 12 Mount St. Joseph on Saturday. MSOE came from 2-1 down in the match to close out the regular season with a 12-1 MCVL record. He also had 13 kills on just 22 attacks Friday in a four-set win over Wittenberg.
The Raiders open the 2016 MCVL Tournament Friday at Carthage, taking on Lakeland in the semifinals at 4 p.m.
