MILWAUKEE – The No. 14-ranked MSOE men's volleyball team swept the Midwestern Collegiate Volleyball League weekly awards for March 6.
Junior Logan Baerenwald was named the MCVL Offensive Player of the Week and freshman Danny Martens the MCVL Defensive Player of the Week. MSOE went 3-1 last week, pushing No. 8 Carthage to five sets on the road. The Raiders then defeated #12 Rivier and swept league foes Loras and Marian.
Baerenwald averaged 4.3 kills per set last week and hit. 325. The highlight was certainly his 27-kill performance at Carthage. His 27 kills are the third-most in school history. He added 13 digs in the match and followed it up with 16 kills and six block assists in the win over Rivier. Baerenwald capped the week with 11 kills in just two sets, hitting .450, against Marian.
Martens also had a big night at Carthage with 23 digs, the second-most in a match in school history. He reached double-digits in digs three times on the week and averaged 3.5 digs per set.
The Raiders are on the road this weekend at Fontbonne Friday and Greenville Saturday.
