WEST ALLIS, Wis. – All five scorers finished in the top 40 to lead the MSOE men's cross country team to a third-place showing at the Warrior Invitational, hosted by Wisconsin Lutheran at Greenfield Park.
The Raiders scored 108 points to tie Carthage and finish just one point back of Lawrence in second place. Trinity Christian won the 25-team meet with 60 points.
Senior Trevor Koziczkowski (Stevens Point, Wis. / SPASH) led the charge in fifth place, crossing the line 27:17. Sophomore Ben Miller (Manitowoc, Wis. / Manitowoc Lutheran) jumped up to the team's second position with a time of 28:05, which earned him 17th place.
Miller was the first of three Raiders finishing in 20-second increments, as junior Brian Janus (Green Bay, Wis. / Preble) finished in 28:25 and freshman Austin Wright (Marinette, Wis. / Marinette) 28:45. Janus took 23rd, while Wright was 31st. Junior Nik Stasinopoulos (Franklin Park, Ill. / East Leyden) then rounded out the scorers in 37th place, just six seconds back of Wright (28:51)
Freshmen James Kearn (New Berlin, Wis. / West) and Jan Patak (Kašperské Hory, Czech Republic) filled out the team's top seven. Kearn crossed the finish in 44th place with a time of 29:04. Patak was 65th in 29:35.
MSOE returns to action next weekend at the Wisconsin Private Schools Championship.
