WINNECONNE, Wisconsin – The MSOE men's cross country team placed 23rd at the Kollege Town Sports Invitational hosted by UW-Oshkosh Saturday at Lake Breeze Golf Club.
The Raiders finished with a team score of 640 in the 33-team field, which drew many national and regionally-ranked teams and featured 560 runners.
Senior Austin Wright led the way for the fifth time in seven races this season, placing 77th overall with a time of 26:17.
The Horbinski twins were MSOE's next two finishers. Both juniors, Trey finished 123rd with a time of 26:42. Meanwhile, Tripp ran 27:22 for 214th place.
The Raiders four remaining factoring runners each finished within 11 seconds, led by freshman Nick Bath in 254th place with a time of 27:44. Senior Nick Avila rounded out the scoring runners in 27:51 and 268th place. He edged junior Jon Ashley for that fifth spot by just two seconds (27:53), as Ashley placed 271st. Junior Collin Rink was just two more seconds back in 27:55 and 274th place.
After competing every weekend of the season, MSOE final takes a week off and returns to action Oct. 29 at the NACC Championships.
