Solid Results Pace Raiders at Warrior & Blugold Invites

MILWAUKEE – MSOE cross country was back on the course for the first time since the middle of September, even if they went their separate ways this weekend. While the men's group ran at the Blugold Invite on Friday, the women participated at the Warrior Invitational on Saturday. Both teams turned in solid results as they head down the home stretch of the season towards the NACC championships.

RESULTS
Women's Team – 8th out of 15

Men's Team – 11th out of 29

TOP RUNNERS
Kendall Marks – 10th place (25:16.51)

Blake Bostwick – 46th (26:02.7)

HOW IT HAPPENED
The women had to battle tough conditions on Saturday, but that didn't stop Kendall Marks from leading the team once more. The historic amounts of rain that the Milwaukee area has received over the past week made the West Allis course muddy and slick. The course was so sloppy that runners had to divert from the course in parts just to traverse safely. Marks time was slower because of this but still finished with a top ten placing. Morgan Balog and Lexi Maruga also finished in the top 30 as the Raiders turned in their best team finish of the year.

The men meanwhile traveled four hours to the northwest to take on 29 other teams at the Blugold Invite the day prior to the women's race. Blake Bostwick paced the Raiders with a 46th place finish which might not seem that impressive but actually is when you factor in the total size of the meet. 447 different runners participated in the event, increasing the competition significantly. Nolan Kozinski, Jesse Lambrecht, and Noah Vaculik also placed in the top 100 as the Raiders can't fly under the radar anymore with their tenth place ranking in the Midwest region.

WHAT'S NEXT
Both teams will reunite in two weeks when they head to the UW-Oshkosh Kollege Town Invite on Saturday, October 19th. The second to last race of the season will start at 10:30 am.
