Dominican – 2

Game Two
MSOE Raiders – 3
Dominican – 4

HOW IT HAPPENED
After two solid wins against Marian on Saturday, MSOE (14-8, 5-3 NACC) was hoping to grab two more on the road against Dominican (13-11, 4-4 NACC). The Raiders had the offensive production in game one, outhitting the Stars 8-4, but just couldn't get the big hit to push runs across home plate. MSOE scored the first run of the game in the top of the sixth on a Kim White (Plainfield, Ill. / South) double to left center, but that wouldn't be enough. Starter Emily Wiederholt avoided trouble for most of the game, but walked the bases loaded to start off the bottom half of the inning. DU took the lead after a fielder's choice and single through the left side to take the lead 2-1. The Raiders managed to get the tying run on board in the top of the seventh but left her at first base in the 2-1 loss.

Game two was almost an exact carbon copy of the initial contest. The game was scoreless until the top of the sixth inning, when a Dominican error opened up the door for the Raiders offense. After Caitlyn Spreitzer (Plainfield, Ill. / Joliet Catholic Academy) reached and advanced on a sacrifice bunt, Lauren Stefanczyk (Palmyra, Wis. / Palmyra-Eagle) tripled to score a run and Emily Snow (Long Beach, Calif. / Millikan) followed suit with an RBI single of her own. The error bug would strike back at the Raiders however, allowing the first two Star runners to get on. Dominican made the defense pay, blemishing a Lorrin Pondo start where she allowed no earned runs in the 3-2 defeat.

RAIDER REMARKS
The two losses mark just the second time this season that the team has lost two in a row and have bounced back strong to make sure a third loss doesn't come about.
