WATERTOWN, Wis. – Senior Shannon Larson scored a game-high 17 points, including 11 during a decisive 12-0 run, to lead the MSOE women's basketball team to a 58-42 victory over Maranatha Baptist Thursday evening.
The Raiders (6-4) led 29-27 at halftime before clamping down defensively to limit the Crusaders (4-6) to just 15 points after halftime.
Larson added four steals to her scoring, while freshman Holly Denfeld just missed a fourth-straight double-double with nine points and 13 rebounds.
Laci Peterson was the lone Crusader in double-figures, scoring 16 points to go with seven rebounds and six blocked shots.
MBBC scored the first three points of the second half to take a brief 30-29 lead. The Raiders then answered with 12-straight points, including 11 by Larson take the lead for good at 41-30. They would build their lead as high as 20 at 58-38 with 4:07 to play on their way to victory.
The Red and White shot 38.6 percent on the night and had 17 assists compared to just 12 turnovers. On defense, the Raiders limited the home team to just 27.7 percent shooting.
MSOE was playing its third game in six days and will return to the court Saturday against Lakeland at the Kern Center.
