WHITEWATER, Wisconsin – Senior Shaylan Reardon scored a game-high 15 points to lead the MSOE women's basketball team in action Tuesday night, a 64-32 loss at the hands of No. 13 UW-Whitewater at Kachel Gymnasium.
The Raiders (3-4) rebounded from a tough opening quarter to outscore the nationally-ranked Warhawks (7-0) 14-12 in the second quarter but went cold in the second half.
Reardon shot 5-for-10 from the field, knocking down three 3-pointers in the game. Junior Jamie Spanbauer had seven points.
Camri Conley and Brooke Trewyn scored 11 points each for Whitewater.
The home team led wire-to-wire, jumping out to 26-8 after one quarter. MSOE rebounded to shoot 50 percent in the second quarter led by Reardon. She went 4-for-4 with a pair of treys from the field and scored 10 of her points in the frame.
The Red & White shot 25 percent from the field, hitting on just 4-of-20 from beyond the arc. The Warhawks shot 37.7 percent on the night and held a sizable 55-27 rebounding advantage. Neither team went to the free throw line much, with MSOE finishing 4-for-6 and UWW 7-for-8.
UWW is ranked No. 13 in the D3hoops.com national poll and No. 18 by the WBCA.
The Raiders return to action Saturday, hosting Alverno.
