MILWAUKEE – The MSOE women's basketball team fell to Concordia Wisconsin 67-47 Wednesday night at Hotchkin Arena.

The Raiders (6-5, 4-3 NACC) and Falcons (6-4, 5-2 NACC) were neck and neck throughout the first half before the visitors went on an extended 21-4 run to pull away.

Juniors Kayla Barreto and Conner Bennett had 10 points each to lead the Red & White. Barreto added seven rebounds while Bennett pulled down six boards and blocked three shots.

Camryn Szolyga led all scorers with 15 points off the bench for CUW. Baylee Barker had 12 points and Clara Chambers chipped in 10.

The opening half was nip and tuck throughout despite an effort by the visitors to pull away. MSOE got out to a 7-4 lead before CUW rattled off 10-straight points to take a 14-7 lead. The Red & White was up to the task and answered in kind with an eight-point run of its own to pull ahead 15-14.

The game remained a one-possession game for the majority of the half before the Falcons were able to squeeze out six-straight points over the last 80 seconds of the half for a 36-29 lead at halftime.

Concordia extended its run to 12-straight points with another six-point spurt to start the second half. All told, the Falcons scored 15 of the first 19 points to open a 51-33 advantage and never looked back.

MSOE shot 52 percent from the field in the first half before cooling off to a 39.6 percent clip for the game. That figure included a 3-for-14 performance from beyond the arc. CUW converted 45 percent of its shot attempts with a 5-of-11 clip on three-pointers.

The Raiders return to the court Saturday, hosting Edgewood.
