MADISON, Wis. – Emily Skaer scored with just under 30 seconds remaining in double overtime to send Edgewood to a 1-0 win over the MSOE women's soccer team in the semifinals of the NACC Tournament Wednesday evening at Breese Stevens Field.
With the win, the top-seeded Eagles (15-3-1) advance to the title game Saturday, where it will host No. 2 Aurora. The sixth-seeded Raiders (11-10) saw their season come to an end.
MSOE played the regular season champions tough for nearly 110 minutes, before succumbing moments before heading to a penalty kick shootout. The game's lone score came when Skaer ran on to a ball and split a pair of Red and White defenders and finished with a sliding toe poke.
EC did have a 13-10 shot advantage, but the Raiders put six of their shots on frame to no avail. Sophomore Margot Giesey was strong in goal for MSOE, making three saves on the night, including a sprawling stop late in the first half to keep the game scoreless.
