Women’s Soccer Suffers Loss at #13 UW-Whitewater

WHITEWATER, Wisconsin – The MSOE women's soccer team suffered a 4-0 defeat at the hands of No. 13-ranked UW-Whitewater Saturday afternoon at Fiskum Field.

The Raiders (2-6) fell to a highly-ranked opponent in the Warhawks (6-1-2) for the second-straight match.

The hosts struck for consecutive goals just 5:15 apart in the middle of the first half. Anna Boyd opened the scoring in the 23rd minute and Mackenzie Serbousek converted a penalty kick minutes later for a 2-0 lead going into halftime. Whitewater tacked on an insurance goal in the 79th minute and added a fourth in the 90th minute to cap the scoring.

MSOE was outshot 21-2 and concede a 7-2 deficit in corner kicks.

All three Red & White keepers saw time in the match. Senior Mary McFee made the start and stopped eight shots in playing the first half. Sophomore Allison Lessila played just over 28 minutes and sophomore Abbie Lorenz made a pair of saves in just under 17 minutes.

The Raiders return to the field Wednesday, hosting Dominican in a rematch of the 2016 NACC Championship game. Kick-off is slated for 7 p.m.
