MILWAUKEE – Senior Aly Loepfe had a hat trick and was one of six different scorers as the MSOE women's soccer team defeated Alverno with ease Saturday, 9-0, at Alverno Soccer Field.
The Raiders (3-7, 1-1 NACC) received two goals from Loepfe in the opening 14 minutes, then she completed her hat trick as they tallied two scores inside the first four minutes of the season half.
Freshman Nora Adkins also scored two goals, while senior Samantha Schuemann and Adriana Garsow, sophomore Jeray Riffel, and freshman Brooke Zidek also got on the scoresheet. Freshman Gracie Horton added two assists.
Loepfe opened the scoring in the seventh minute, then converted a penalty kick in the 14th minute. Adkins followed with back-to-back goals in the 24th and 27th minutes. Garsow then made it 5-0 in the 33rd minute.
Coming out of halftime, MSOE went right back to work, with Zidek scoring a goal for the second-straight game just 19 seconds after the intermission.
Loepfe completed her hat trick off her second corner kick header, this one in the 49th minute.
Riffel scored in the 77th minute and Schuemann, a German exchange student, notched her first collegiate goal in the 86th minute.
The Raiders dominated the match, outshooting the Inferno 38-2, including 22-0 in the second half. They put 20 shots on target in the match and did not concede an attempt on goal.
MSOE will look to build on the offensive outburst when it returns to action Wednesday, hosting Marian at Viets Field.
