MILWAUKEE – Juniors Holly Denfeld and Jessica Bilskie of the MSOE women's track & field team have been named Academic All-Americans by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA), the organization announced today.
Denfeld was named to the Academic All-America Second Team while Bilskie was selected to the third team. Denfeld was a third-team honoree last season and has also earned the honors three times for basketball, including back-to-back first-team nods (2016-17).
Denfeld has also earned three Academic All-America awards for women's basketball, including first-team honors the last two seasons. This season, she took seventh in triple jump, 10th in 100m hurdles, and 10th in 400m hurdles at NACC Outdoor Championships. She also ran with school-record 4x400m relay (4:10.55), taking fourth with both 4x400 and 4x100m relays.
Bilskie won a NACC Championship in the 400m hurdles at the outdoor league meet earlier this month. She also scored in 100m hurdles with a third place finish, as eighth in the pole vault, as well as with the school-record 4x400m relay and the 4x100m relay. Indoors, she was league runner-up in the 55m hurdles and took fourth with 4x400m relay. During the season, she broke school 400m record (1:02.86).
Denfeld boasts a 3.98 grade point average as an architectural engineering/construction management major. She is a senior academically. Bilskie has maintained a perfect 4.00 through three years as an electrical engineering major.
