Buchholz Wins Pentathlon at Carthage

KENOSHA, Wisconsin – Senior Lea Buchholz won the pentathlon and junior Maia Heineck took fourth as the pair represented the MSOE women's track & field team at the Tadd Metzger Invitational Friday at the Tarble Center.

Buchholz scored 2,475 points to defeat a pair of athletes from UW-Oshkosh by 162 points. Heineck registered 2,000 points for fourth.

Buchholz won three of the five events, earning 621 points for the high jump in which she cleared a height of 4-11. She also scored 540 points with her 16-2 1/4 long jump and won the shot put. Meanwhile, Heineck's best event was the high jump where she cleared 4-5 for 460 points.

The rest of the squad is in action Saturday at the Pioneer Open hosted by UW-Platteville.
