PLATTEVILLE, Wisconsin – Senior Rachel Lynde and junior Jerica Kotarak each posted wins to lead the MSOE women's track & field team in action at the UW-Platteville Select Saturday at Williams Fieldhouse.
Lynde topped the field in the high jump, clearing a final height of 4-9 3/4. She was joined in the top three by junior Maia Heineck, who posted a height of 4-6.
Kotarak remained perfect in the horizontal jumps this season, winning the triple jump for the second time to go with a pair of long jump wins. At UWP, she leaped 36-2 to top the field and lead three Raiders in the top 10. Junior Bianca Trombley was eighth at 30-11 1/4 and sophomore Nikki Weise jumped 30-2 3/4 for ninth.
Kotarak also took third in the finals of the 60m with a time of 8.30.
Senior Jessica Bilskie also continued her strong start to the season with top-eight finishes in both the 60m hurdles and 200m. In the finals of the hurdles, she ran 9.76 for fifth place. She had gone 9.62 in the prelims. In the 200m, she took eighth with a time of 28.45.
The Raiders posted three more top-10 finishes in the long jump, 800m, and mile run. Senior Desy Echevarria placed third in the long jump with a distance of 15-3 1/4. Sophomore Nancy Leon ran 3:14.83 for fifth place in the 800m, and sophomore Morgan Balog logged a time of 6:07.40 for sixth in the mile.
MSOE returns to action at the Redhawk Invitational hosted by Ripon next Saturday.
