Kotarak Heading to Fifth NCAA Championships

MILWAUKEE – Junior Jerica Kotarak of the MSOE women's track & field team has qualified for her fifth NCAA Championships this week as she heads to the national meet to compete in the long jump Friday in Birmingham, Alabama.

Kotarak has previously qualified for the NCAA Championships both indoors and outdoors in each of her first two seasons. Three times, she has been a dual-event participant in both the long and triple jump events. She was named an All-American for the 2016 indoor season.

No athlete in program history as competed at more national meets than Kotarak, though she is looking to become the third two-time All-American (Rachel Eggebrecht, Catherine Chappell).

Kotarak is currently ranked ninth in Division III in the long jump with a distance of 18-9 1/4. The jump was used to claim the NACC Championship in the event while resetting her own school, league, and league championship record in the event.

The 2018 NCAA Indoor Championships take place Friday and Saturday at Birmingham Southern College. The Women's Long Jump is Friday at 2:30 p.m. For meet information, as well as links to live results and live video links, click here.
