LA CROSSE, Wisconsin - Junior Jerica Kotarak of the MSOE women's track & field team capped another outstanding season at the NCAA Championships Saturday morning, competing in the triple jump.
Competing in her second event of the meet, Kotarak placed 19th out of 22 participants, improving on her seeding coming into the meet of 21st. Her final jump netted her a final distance of 37-8 1/2. She opened the competition with a jump of 37-2 1/2 on her first attempt. She did not exceed that mark on her second attempt but tacked on another six inches in her third.
Kotarak was competing at nationals for the sixth time in her first three years, spanning 10 events. She is the first Raider, male or female, to qualify for six NCAA meets or to compete in as many as 10 events.
