Final Tuneup Successful For Women's Track

WHITEWATER, Wis. – For the second time this season, the ladies of MSOE track and field headed to UW-Whitewater to participate in an outdoor meet, although this one wasn't exactly planned. The weather forecast forced the Raiders to move meets and pick up the UW-Whitewater Drake Alternative meet, their last before the NACC outdoor championships this upcoming weekend. The team came to the Rex Foster Track Complex with the idea of fine-tuning things before next Friday and Saturday, and ended up scoring even more personal bests.

The top Raider this week goes to Patty Bray (Monticello, Minn. / Monticello), who led the partial squad effort on Friday afternoon. Bray placed highly in two track events, coming in fifth place during the 800-meter run with a time of 2:28.43, which she followed up by coming in fourth in the 1,500-meter run, less than a second behind third with a pace of 5:00.12. This time was good enough to reduce her personal best yet again in the 1,500, which she hopes to place highly in next weekend.

Grace Kusik (West Allis, Wis. / Hale) – 9th in 800-meter
Bianca Trombley (Elkhorn, Wis. / Elkhorn Area) – 8th in 100-meter hurdles, 8th in long jump
Maia Heineck (Holmen, Wis. / Holmen) – 5th in javelin throw
Samantha Brooker (Chicago, Ill. / Lane Tech College Prep) – 9th in javelin throw
Jerica Kotarak (Wind Lake, Wis. / Muskego) – 10th in javelin throw

It's time for the big one, as the team will use this week to prepare to take on the competition at the NACC Outdoor Championships, hosted by Benedictine on May 3rd and 4th.
