Women's Track and Field Turns In Fourth Place Performance

LISLE, Ill. - The MSOE women's track and field team likes to break things. Things like personal bests for example. The Raiders set 21 personal records and had four season best marks at the NACC Outdoor Championships, taking home a fourth place finish between action on Friday and Saturday afternoon in Lisle, Ill.

4th out of 11

Patty Bray (Monticello, Minn. / Monticello) closes out her NACC career with a pair of top three finishes at the outdoor championships. Bray started off the weekend by placing second in the 800-meter with a time of 2:22.53. She followed that up with a third-place performance in the 1,500-meter run, finishing just six-tenths of a second away from grabbing the second spot from her Aurora opponent. Both of those performances were personal bests by a wide margin.

Not only does top field performance honors goes to Jerica Kotarak (Wind Lake, Wis. / Muskego), she also was honored by being named Co-Field Athlete of the Meet by the NACC. Kotarak was back in peak form this weekend, bringing home two more top honors to add to her massive collection. She obliterated the competition in the long jump, winning with a distance of 5.71 meter. In comparison, her next closest competitor jumped just 5.41 meters. She currently ranks 12th in the nation in the long jump, putting her in the qualifying range for the NCAA championships. Kotarak then beat out teammate Bianca Trombley (Elkhorn, Wis. / Elkhorn Area) in the triple jump with a distance of 11.51 meters. Kotarak wraps up here conference career never having been beaten in either of the long jump or triple jump events at both the indoor and outdoor championships.
