MILWAUKEE – After dropping their first conference game of the season this past Saturday to Concordia Wisconsin, the Raiders were ready to take down whoever their next opponent was to get back over the .500 mark in NACC play. Unfortunately for Rockford, they were the next team up and got dismantled in a 3-0 loss to MSOE on Wednesday night.
Rockford – 0 (13, 16, 19)
MSOE – 3 (25, 25, 25)
HOW IT HAPPENED
MSOE (7-11, 2-1 NACC) easily outhit Rockford (6-11, 0-3 NACC) in each of the three sets this evening, setting the pace for what would be a quick night on the court. The match only lasted one hour and ten minutes, with the Raiders holding the Regents to under 20 points in each set. The Red & White hit a combined .245 for the match, including set two and set three where they hit .265 and .270 respectively.
MOSE went on four different runs of three or more points in the first set, including a 6-0 run at the end to win the frame 25-13. While the Regents would earn more points in the second and third sets, MSOE won game two with a 12-3 run. The third frame featured more of the same. With Rockford only down by one at 12-11 in the third, the Raiders again put up seven straight points to pull away for the 25-19 victory. All but one Raider registered a dig as MSOE outkilled Rockford 38-24 in the 3-0 victory.
- Out of the 30 games these two teams have played against each other, MSOE has won 17 of them. Tonight's win puts the Raiders on a nine-game winning streak against the Regents dating back to October 8, 2011.
- Quinn Borchert hit an incredible .714 for the game and was one attack away from having the highest hitting percentage in a single game in program history.
