Women's Cross Country Posts Top-Half Finish at Weidt Classic

MEQUON, Wisconsin - Patty Bray finished 23rd overall to lead the MSOE women's cross country team to a top half finish at the Ken Weidt Classic hosted by Concordia Wisconsin Saturday morning.

The Raiders finished with a team score of 206 for seventh place in the 14-team field, distancing themselves from the bottom half of teams by 55 points over eighth place.

Bray ran a time of 25:48.3 in the first 6000m race of the season. Alex Muench finished 47th with a time of 27:18.2 and junior Kayla Thilges posted a time of 27:47.7 for 58th.

Morgan Balog placed 70th in 28:41.1 and Samantha Brooker rounded out the team's scoring runners with a time of 29:21.5 and a 78th-place finish.

Jenny Leonard and Emorie Harty also counted for the team, with Leonard running 29:30.2 for 80th and Emorie Harty finishing 109th in 32:51.1.

MSOE returns to action next Saturday at UW-Whitewater's Tom Hoffman Invitational.
