KENOSHA, Wisconsin – Junior Patty Bray placed 44th to lead the MSOE women's cross country team to sixth place among eight non-Division I teams at the Lucian Rosa Open Saturday morning at UW-Parkside.
The Raiders finished with 175 points in a field that included teams from all levels, as well as Division I Marquette and Chicago State. They edged NACC foe Mount Mary by three points and also finished ahead of Alverno .
While Division I and non-Division I separated team scores, overall places were not with Bray running a time of 25:21.6.
The team's next three runners finished less than 19 seconds apart in a group that included junior Kayla Thilges, freshman Lexi Maruga, and senior Alex Muench. Thilges led the group in 76th place with a time of 27:39.2. Maruga followed in 27:48.8 for 78th place and Muench took 80th with a time of 27:58.0.
Freshman Jenny Leonard rounded out the scoring runners, while junior Samantha Brooker and sophomore Nancy Leon also counted for the team. Leonard took 90th place in 28:47.8. Brooker was 97th with a time of 29:26.1 and Leon finished in 34:36.0 for 114th.
MSOE returns to action next weekend at the Wisconsin Private College Championships hosted by Maranatha Baptist in Watertown.
