MILWAUKEE - Break week on campus is here, but three teams are in action. Women's Basketball has a full workload, opening NACC play with a pair of games. Meanwhile, Hockey and Men's Basketball play games on Tuesday before taking a break for the remainder of the week.
WOMEN'S BASKETBALL (1-0 - W1)
Women's Basketball opened the Katie Nelson era with a 63-53 win over Lake Forest last Saturday. Holly Denfeld (21 points/15 rebounds) and Lizzy Hilby (14/10) each posted double-doubles, while Kayla Barreto had a tremendous collegiate debit with 13 points and six assists. The Raiders now move into league play, playing at Concordia Chicago Monday and returning from Thanksgiving with a Saturday showdown at Wisconsin Lutheran. CUC will be playing its season-opener, while WLC has gotten off to an 0-2 start this season.
HOCKEY (2-4-2 - L1)
Hockey split last weekend's non-league crossover series with teams from the WIAC, winning a thrilling 4-3 contest against UW-Stout Friday and falling to UW-River Falls 5-2 on Saturday. Kevin Shand scored twice Friday as the Raiders erased a 2-0 deficit with three-straight goals to win. The Falcons then broke open Saturday's game with three third-period goals to break a 2-2 tie after two. MSOE hosts St. Mary's in a rare mid-week afternoon game at the Kern Center Tuesday. Puck drops at 2 p.m.
MEN'S BASKETBALL (0-1 - L1)
Men's Basketball opened its regular season with a 74-59 loss at Beloit Saturday. Collin Seubert led the way with 18 points and four steals. The Raiders also got 16 points from Matt Kirmse, who knocked down four 3-pointers, and 13 from Max Wojcik. They will now jump right into league play Tuesday at Lakeland. Its an annual homecoming for head coach Brian Miller, who got his head coaching start with the Muskies in the early 1990's.
