HOCKEY (3-4-2, 1-3-2 NCHA - W1)
Hockey has not played since a 5-2 win over St. Mary's on Nov. 22. The Raiders overcame a 2-0 deficit with five unanswered goals to head into the holiday break on a way. It was the second time in three contests (Nov. 18 vs. UW-Stout, 4-3) that MSOE came back from 2-0 to win. Gage Christianson tallied a pair of goals and an assist in the SMU game and continues to lead the team with six goals and 12 points. Austin Campbell remains unbeaten in goal with a 2-0-2 record and 2.88 GAA in four starts. This week the team welcomes UW-Superior to town. The Red & White has won three-straight meetings, including a weekend series on the road last season.
Wrestling is coming off the 12th Annual MSOE Invitational last weekend, where the Raiders placed eighth among 12 teams. Austin Bellile and Devin Mahnke placed at the meet, as Bellile won the 285-pound bracket with four wins and Mahnke took fourth at 197 pounds. Bellile posted four more wins, including falls in 0:25 and 1:14. He's now 12-1 on the season with seven falls. Mahnke, meanwhile, made his season debut and posted a 4-2 record.
WOMEN'S BASKETBALL (2-2, 1-2 NACC - W1)
Women's Basketball picked up its first league win of the season, 61-56 Saturday over former head coach Jessica Ott and her Alverno squad. The Raiders trailed by six points at halftime, but outscored the Inferno in each of the final two quarters and overtime. Holly Denfeld finished with 23 points, on 11-of-14 shooting, and nine rebounds, while Jamie Spanbauer had a strong game with nine points, nine rebounds and eight assists against just one turnover. MSOE hits the road for games at Edgewood and Dominican. The team has had success against both teams of late, winning its last five meetings with Edgewood and seven against Dominican.
