MILWAUKEE - Track & Field gets started this week, joining Basketball, Hockey, and Wrestling in action for the Raiders.
MEN'S BASKETBALL (6-6, 5-3 - W4)
Men's Basketball pushed their winning streak to four games with a pair of strong league wins last week on the road at Concordia Wisconsin and against Aurora. The win vs. the Spartans was particularly impressive as the Raiders held AU over 20 points below its season average and to its season-low scoring output. MSOE has now won five of its last six games and will look to continue the run during a homestand that includes games against Marian and Concordia Chicago this week. The MU game will be the teams' first meeting this season, while MSOE and CUC played just two weeks ago--an 83-74 Raider win.
WOMEN'S BASKETBALL (7-5, 4-3 - W1)
Women's Basketball got back on a winning track with a 60-50 win over Aurora Saturday. Holly Denfeld reached a pair of milestones in the win, hitting 1,500 points on Tuesday and 900 rebounds Saturday. With 1,532 points and 901 rebounds in her career, she is three points from third in school history and 59 points from second. She is also closing in on being the third player in NACC history to 1,000 rebounds. The Raiders play at Lakeland Wednesday, then host Concordia Chicago in a rematch of the NACC opener Nov. 21.
HOCKEY (5-5-2, 2-4-2 - W1)
Hockey returned to the ice after a 27-day layoff and earned a series split with Lake Forest. The road team won each game 3-2, with the Raiders rebounding from a 2-0 deficit Saturday. All five of MSOE's wins this season have come from a trailing position, including three-straight wins in games in which it trailed 2-0. The team's next five games come on its home ice, including this weekend's series with St. Scholastica.
The Track & Field teams open the 2017 indoor season this week with the Private College Invitational. Check GO-RAIDERS.com this week for a season preview of each team.
Wrestling got back into action last Saturday with a trio of duel meets at the Chicago duels. The Raiders struggled against Manchester, St. John's, and Trine. Austin Bellile shined with three wins by fall on the day, making short work of his opponents at heavyweight in 1:40, 2:46 and 1:50. Devin Mahnke had two wins at 197 pounds, as did Sam Rathburn at 157 pounds.
