JAN. 16: Raider Weekly Preview

MILWAUKEE - Men's Basketball is one of the hottest teams in the league and will stay fresh with its second-straight one-game week. Wrestling rekindles a long rivalry, while Women's Basketball and Hockey are also in action this week.

Ian's Pizza RAIDER OF THE WEEK: Devin Mahnke, Wrestling

MEN'S BASKETBALL (7-6, 6-3 - W5)

Men's Basketball has won five-straight games and six of its last seven after knocking off Concordia Chicago Saturday. The Raiders' current run has them sitting 6-3 in the league and just a half game back of second place in the standings. Collin Seubert is averaging 19.6 points and 9.4 rebounds per game over the run. MSOE faces off with Concordia Wisconsin at home Tuesday. The teams last met just 13 days and three games earlier--a 65-54 Red & White road victory.

WOMEN'S BASKETBALL (7-7, 4-5 - L2)

Women's Basketball is coming off a pair of tough losses last week, including Saturday in the first double-overtime game in team history. Holly Denfeld has been on a run for the Raiders, posting five-straight double-doubles and eight in her last nine games. Meanwhile, Jamie Spanbauer has knocked down five 3-pointers in each of the last two games, which is tied for fourth in a single game in school history.

HOCKEY (5-6-4, 2-5-3 - L1)

Hockey is amidst a five-game homestand, which started with a tough series against St. Scholastica last weekend. The Raiders welcome Finlandia to the Kern Center for a pair of games this weekend. Gage Christianson has scored a point in 11 of his last 12 games, including a pair of goals Saturday. Chris Hinrichs has also gotten into the offensive act, scoring goals in three-straight games as a defenseman. Ironically, his scoring run came after one game on a forward line.

WRESTLING

Wrestling renews its rivalry with long-time conference rivalry with Lakeland when the two teams meet in a duel on Friday in Sheboygan. The Raiders had four wrestlers place at last weekend's Al Hanke Invitational, led by Devin Mahnke taking first place at 197 pounds. He did not have an easy road, scoring wins over the #1 and #2 seeds to win the bracket.
